Do People Still Use Phone Books?

I was working in my office when I heard a loud thump outside my door. It was a phone book…the second one I have received in the last month. I hate them. They take up a lot of space. Sure, I can recycle them but that it’s still a pain.

My question is:

Do people still use phone books? I know I don’t. I have a BlackBerry. When I need to look something up, I type in what I’m looking for in the Google app. When the results come up, I click on the “Local” tab and whatever I’m looking for usually pops up there. Then, I can simply click on the phone number and dial directly from my phone.

I bet I haven’t used a phone book in over a year. I’m sure some people still use them but I would think the days of the phone book are numbered.
